Wanna One Hit Realtime Charts with “Light” In Less 24 hrs.
It’s astounding to see that Wanna One topped all major realtime charts with their new title track!
When they released their title track “Light” on June 6, 6pm KST from their special album “1÷χ=1(UNDIVIDED),” it instantly reached 2.8 million views in Youtube, in less than 24 hours! It is their second EP of 2018 fronted by their hit single “Light”. Since their formation through the second season of the South Korean television show Produce 101 in 2017, it has been their fourth album from the group.
“Light” is a smooth electro-pop track with a glitchy EDM progression and catchy chorus. Its single is a romantic dance song that will be the lead track of their upcoming world tour, bringing them to the Stateside in the next few weeks. It’s also exciting to hear that Wanna One will appear at LA and KCON 2018 NY!
“Light” rapidly rose to the top of Korea’s major realtime charts and accelerated at No. 1 on the realtime charts of Soribada, Naver, Bugs, Mnet, Genie and Melon at 2:30 am KST on June 5! The music video of “Light” featured the 11 members divided among diverse sets as they perform, before assembling in the end of the video as an undivided unit. Their powerful choreography accentuates the beauty of their album.
Wanna One’s EP features four other songs along with the single, which broke Wanna One to small units. Each track was produced by famous a famous and great South Korean artist.
“Kangaroo,” is a cheerful and comical hip-pop track that closes the album out with Kim Jaehwan, Kang Daniel and Park Woojin produced by Block B’s Zico.
“Forever and a Day,” is an expressive, building pop-rock ballad featuring Wanna One’s Yoon Jisung, Ha Sungwoon and Hwang Minhyun, produced by Nell’s Kim Jong Wan.
The groovy alt R&B tune “11,” featuring Lai Kuanlin, Park Jihoon, and Bae Jinyoung was produced by Gaeko and Choiza of Dynamic Duo.
And “Sandglass” which featuring Ong Seongwu and Lee Daehwi alongside the singer-songwriter was produced by Heize.
Wanna One’s 11 members were sorted for the group through Produce 101’s competition show as a temporary act.
